RIAS CPD: Scottish wood resource and opportunities for use in construction

This event, kindly delivered by Confor’s Deputy CEO, Andy Leitch, will provide a comprehensive overview of the current Scottish wood resource and opportunities for use in construction. Confor are a not-for-profit organisation that works and lobbies on behalf of the private forestry and wood sector.

In particular this event will look at economic development across several areas including:

  • supply chain

  • workforce development

  • innovation

  • research and development

Confor represent the forestry and wood ‘supply chain’ and focus on the strategic issues that are vital to the success and sustainable future of the sector. These include helping build the market for wood and forest products, creating a supportive policy environment, and helping members to become more competitive and successful.

Please note this event could contribute towards the ARB 2024 mandatory requirement for CPD on ‘Environmental Sustainability’.

About the speaker:

Andy Leitch, Deputy Chief Executive at Confor

Andy Leitch has 35 years of experience in the forest industry and joined Confor in April 2020. Andy leads on membership communication and engagement, and technical support; and Wood for Good. He directs and supports the work of the National Managers, the membership team, the Technical support Manager and the Wood for Good Campaign Manager. He represents Confor interests in numerous influential national committees and groups.
