Anita Crozier - Senior Associate, CMS LLP

Anita specialises in contentious construction, mainly providing legal advice to avoid and resolve construction disputes. She acts for contractors, consultants, developers, and institutions on a wide range of issues arising primarily from construction contracts (both standard form (including NEC, JCT, SBCC,) and bespoke contracts), collateral warranties and professional appointments. Anita is proficient in all forms of dispute resolution including adjudication, arbitration, mediation and litigation in the Sheriff Courts and Court of Session.

Sandy Killbourn – Managing Director, Gartcarron Engineering Consultancy

Sandy Killbourn is an ex local authority fire officer with over 30 years’ experience in the fire service, over 20 years front line fire safety management.

This experience has been built-up through the compiling and inspection of fire certificates under the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and subsequently the auditing of Fire Risk Assessments under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005.

He has a BSc (Hons) degree in Fire Risk Engineering and has been the lead officer for the local fire service, in conjunction with building standard verifiers, in the approval of numerous proposals requiring fire engineered solutions.

Robert McNamee - Research Developer, Fire and Safety Research Institutes of Sweden

Gareth Davies - Head of Technical and R&D, Russwood

Gareth Davies is Russwood's Head of Technical, Research & Development. He leads technical development, fire performance strategy, and product innovation across the company’s timber cladding systems.

Gareth works closely with architects, contractors and regulators to support compliant specification of timber cladding systems, with a particular focus on fire performance, certification, and system design.  He is actively involved in fire testing programmes and contributes to industry discussions around evolving guidance and standards, helping to address common misconceptions of timber in construction.

Liz Norris - Solicitor, Marsh Commercial

Liz began working in the insurance industry in 2002.  She is a qualified solicitor who obtained over 10 years’ experience in private practice at international insurance law firms specialising in coverage and insurance disputes before joining Marsh.

Her particular work includes managing complex and disputed financial and professional services claims across a breadth of practice areas.  Her particular specialisms include construction, engineering, architects, IFA, Pension administrator, broker, accountant, law firm and healthcare clients.  She also regularly advises professional services clients on their general commercial insurance claims and risk strategies/management.
