The online recording of our recent Expert Witness Training Event can be purchased below. The event was held on Tuesday 3 October 2023 from RIAS headquarters in Rutland Square Edinburgh and led by Hamish Clark, Partner with HKA, Neil Kelly, Partner with MacRoberts, and Gavin Walker KC from Axiom Advocates.

This event is essential viewing for those wishing to be retained on the RIAS Accredited Panel of Experts. Viewing is also recommended for those architects interested in the work of experts and those wishing to be considered for inclusion on the RIAS panel in future.

Those wishing to be included on the RIAS panel of experts will be required to be separately assessed, details of which will be provided in due course.

About the Presenters:

Hamish Clark - Forensic Architectural Expert, HKA

Hamish Clark is a Chartered Architect with over 30 years’ experience. He is Partner at HKA, a leading global consultancy in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness, and litigation support services and has worked extensively in the UK and Middle-East. He has acted as an expert architect on 29 occasions and has been a member of a team of experts on two further occasions. In addition to being an examiner for the final “Part 3” RIBA professional examinations, I have been a visiting lecturer in Professional Practice to the Department of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde.

Neil Kelly - Partner, MacRoberts

Neil Kelly is Partner and Head of Construction at MacRoberts LLP. Neil specialises in advising employers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and their insurers in the construction sector. In 2012, he became Honorary Fellow of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) in 2012.

Gavin Walker K.C - Axiom Associates

Gavin is a Band 1 ranked Senior Counsel by Chambers & Partners.
