Contract Administration Workshop

Join us for an interactive Contract Administration workshop led by RIAS Technical Adviser, Rob Campbell, and Head of Practice, Zoe Black.

Upon registration, attendees will be assigned a small group of 4 (may vary depending on overall attendee numbers). Your team will be tasked with responding to a series of live-based scenarios designed to test your Contract Administration (CA) skills when administering the SBCC Minor Works Building Contract with contractor's design for use in Scotland (MWD/Scot 2016 Edition).

An educational watermarked copy of the contract will be provided a day in advance. There is no prior work required in advance though attendees may wish to familiarise themselves with the contract clauses if they’ve not been administering a Minor Works contract recently.

When responding to questions, respondees should refer to relevant clauses in the Building Contract and each question posed must be answered in full to progress to the next question. There is a competitive

element whilst working in teams, but a breakdown of the answers will be provided at the end together with a Q&A session for general contractual queries.

The workshop provides an ideal learning opportunity for attendees at all stages of their career. It enables experienced contract administrators to brush up on their skills and a chance for Part 3 students and Associate members to learn to administer with confidence.
